Thank you for taking time to visit my little nook. This is where I would like to share with you, a few glimpses of my journey through my life. Some thoughts, experiences, stories,…

I’m Shikha, an unschooler. My unschooling journey started when I was 11, I stopped going to school and started exploring my interests.

Being an unschooler I got my time and space to do what I like. So I did stuff I like to do. I usually spend time doing Odissi because it’s one of the ways I can express myself. I am learning to play a wind instrument called Ocarina. I don’t know much about music but I play the Ocarina because I like the sound of it and I try my best to learn new tunes through what skills I have. I like a lot of beats. So I’m planning to learn the drums. I also do Programming with my father. We both are learning julia, a programming language and it’s been an exciting journey. I’m also learning to make websites like this one here! I want to practice gift culture and my website making is a part of it.

I’m really passionate about gymnastics but haven’t got a chance to learn it till now. So I’m getting to my goal through the website making project I have. I do a few other things (you can call them hobbies) like Cubing, sketching, Running, swimming and trekking and Reading.

I live in a family of five, with my grandparents, parents and me. My mother is a home maker and a maker. She makes things for our home and for friends. My father was an IT professional and he is now learning to Farm and other things. We all live togather and we have interesting rituals like the listening circle and movie night. We have one listening circle every week and we talk about various topics like how we are feeling, are the self made plans working for us and how we can support each other in our journeys. And for the movie night, each one of us take turns, picking a movie and in the end we have a small talking circle to talk about the movie. We would talk about the characters, places in the movie, dialogues, the script, and lots more.
